Your Personal Brand is not just online.

Hey Reader,

I was just chatting with a young man. He is struggling to get clients online. He said his personal brand isn’t growing enough. He doesn’t get any inbound leads.

I asked him:
What are you doing in real life? Offline. What contacts do you have? Who are the people you’re already spending time with?

These are important because a Personal Brand is basically your reputation and trustworthiness.

It is so much easier to build a good reputation when your trustworthiness is offline.

We have all been in what I call the “Online Realm” on 1HP.

I enjoy the occasional D&D round (Dungeons and Dragons), and when you roll for anything, there are Bonus Modifiers added and subtracted.

The Bonus is a benefit that you add. The Malus is a disadvantage that you have to subtract.

It is a similar idea to stacking the odds in your favor.

Trying to gain clients is a hard battle. When you don’t have testimonials, reviews, case studies, or a large following online—the “Online Realm” hits pretty hard.

How do I get around this Malus?

By starting offline.

I changed the game field. Offline, I have connections. So there is a Bonus on existing trust.

I don’t just have the Online Malus. Then I can take all the Bonus online.

Then the Malus won’t hit me so hard.

This is why you should consider starting with offline to build your personal brand.

Get back to work! 😀

Your Jowi

I’ve been doing content marketing for almost 5 years. It definitely changed over the last year. There is a flood of content out there that is just generated by AI.It is getting easier to stay consistent. There is also a pattern I observe: I’m not trying to compete with AI.Since it’s a tool, I can use it well or…

Simple Scales, Fancy Fails This is a saying that has stuck with me for a while now. I don’t remember when I heard it first. It is an excellent reminder. I tend to overthink, overplan, overanalyze, and overdo many things in my life. There is a sense of perfection. It really has to be all prepared. Every detail has to look seamless. It should look cool. For it just to work is not good enough. Since hearing “Fancy Fails, Simple Scales” I keep reminding myself of that. We always keep thinking of…

Hey Reader, There is one word that keeps popping up right now. Integrity. With all the AI tools coming out, with social media and online businesses, there are people that just see the quick money. They do anything to put people to buy. The last few years, I’m in a chat that we have entered the attention economy. I’m expecting that the next few years we will be in the trust economy. You have to be trustworthy. Don’t use trust for your benefit! I believe integrity will be a major part of this….
