Wait for the Harvest

Hey Reader,

Today almost everything is immediate. You go onto Amazon and have something someday delivering. The longest you need to wait is maybe two days. And that already feels like forever.

When we’re starting a business we also expect immediate results.
People hop in to buy our products.

The reality is hitting hard in the face when nobody shows up.
Life doesn’t happen immediate. Most things worthwhile take time.

You won’t put a seed in the ground to have the harvest tomorrow.
It takes a few months for the tomato plant to grow.

Then the tomato plant has some blossoms that turn into green bulbs.
With enough sun they will turn into red tomatoes, ready for the harvest.

Same is true in business.

In business we also need to earn patience.
From the idea to the harvest it takes time.

There are steps along the way that we can celebrate.
Milestones that we can work towards.

There are three major character traits we need to learn:

  1. Patience (as mentioned).
  2. Diligence.
We need to show up daily.
    We need to water.
    We need to weed.
We need to build a structure for our plant to grow.
    We need to prune.
These are all tasks you can’t skip.
  3. Be faithful.
You need to act in good faith that the harvest is going to happen and that it will be plenty to feed your family.

The difficulty is: one won’t happen without the others.
All three are necessary.

If you lose faith, you quit.
If you slack off, your harvest won’t be good.
If you try to hurry, things might break.

Keep chopping wood!

  • To Give is to Get

Hey Reader, How often have you heard:“But he did it first!” Many kids justify their actions as reactions. They say, look at the other person… they are so much worse than I am. We see this today with adults, too—when they put blame on others as an excuse for their bad behavior. It makes me sad to see it in the news every day: “I’m not to blame.” “He was already doing it.” “I’m not as bad as he is.” These are all statements of giving back what you’ve received—with the point of escape or…

Gain Agency of your Life When we talk about starting a business, there is often the question of why should you bother. There is so much work that is required to make a business work. Often it is said to have more time and the most often reason is to make more money. But there is one big reason that I’m willing to work more for – and it’s Agency. • Don’t Judge a Business by Its Social Media

It is so interesting. A lot of people judge the business by their social following. He got 100k followers—he must have a massive business! Somehow we doubt that small accounts are bigger businesses. I stopped looking at the following and started to look for the actual interaction. There is a lot to be said about the right likes. You can tell fast which small accounts don’t work — because they tell you. With bigger accounts, it’s getting harder to see the difference. The funny thing is: A lot…

  • 30 before 30

30 before 30 Now that I’m 29 years old – I’m wondering what do I want to do with my next year? What do I want to do before I turn 30? As I have been working on my business to become the Present Provider for my family – I have noticed a trend. Most people set an income goal. So have I in the last years. Now that I have a few years on my back – I realize it is better to focus on Impact. Impact over Income. It is not how much I can get out – it is how much I can give. My goal is to reach 30K…

  • Business is Boring!

Hey Reader, In so many videos I’ve watched over the years, there is often the idea that business is so exciting. There is always something new happening. There is always change. You’re in a high-speed car chase. While I definitely get that—especially when you’re starting out—you always want to be overwhelmed. The reality is that business is boring. There is not much happening once you find a routine that works. The main goal is to stick to that routine as long as you can. I do like to be by…
