The Spiral of Salaries

Hey Reader,

Right now we feel the pressure.
Many economies seem to struggle.
There are many news reports about prices going up.

A friend of mine said the math for January:
Over the last five years, prices have risen by 30–60%.
Even for singles—more for families with kids.

Yet the economy is still feeling the pressure.

The big danger is still ahead.
Because in Germany there are a lot of people asking for a raise.
They want to earn more.
I fully understand this.

People speak up to raise the minimum wage.
This is true.
And people are afraid to not afford to live anymore.
To not be able to afford to pay rent.

But—there is a flaw in the system.

A raise of your salary by 10% is ruining the expenses for the business by about 20%.
These 20% must either be saved from somewhere (and push people to work like they did 10 years ago),
or they need to raise product/service prices.

This means that the 30–60% price increase of the last years will keep going up
which the 10% salary increase will never be able to catch up with.

The only solution I found to all of this:
is to skill up.

You need to get better, get faster, and solve bigger problems.

The best way to keep the worst of the years at bay is to start a business.

Yes, a business is also uncertain.
But in times like this, a business allows you to grow your income exponentially
where a job will always struggle to get a big raise.

Because the business you’re hired by needs to still make a profit
and they still need to be able to keep prices acceptable by the market.

That’s why I started my business 8 years ago.
Just as the best way to escape the system.
Now what I do is my salary.
I need to do what helps my people better.

Keep chopping Wood!

Working with Constraints Everybody has constraints. We usually try to ignore them. We try to show all the good things and advantages we have. But we don’t want to share limitations we have. Constraints are a powerful opportunity once you use them right. There is a saying that goes something like this: “You can do anything, but you can’t do everything.” The opportunities we have right now seem endless. You think you can conquer the world. Once reality hits, you realize – that you’re still…

Social media gets pretty boring.I read the same posts over and over again. Why do most people post the same stuff? It feels like there is nobody sharing fresh ideas. There are waves of trends. As soon as somebody posts something good,it gets reposted, repurposed a hundred times. They all look alike.Sound alike. Are there no new ideas? I believe it’s for one reason: Because people are actually scared their post won’t get enough likes. They hold back their genuine self, fresh thoughts, and new…

  • Don’t Follow Fishermen, Follow the Fish

Hey Reader, In business, we are often tempted to jump on big trends. We often feel like we’re missing out if we don’t. Especially at the beginning, it’s hard. The question is: how do you get started? You should go where the fish are. Don’t blindly follow the advice of the fishermen. The fish is the spot, not the fishermen. The rest will follow long after. A friend and I went fishing together. When we arrived at the lake, it was often that way that others were leaving. So you just lost. Ash…

  • 30 before 30

30 before 30 Now that I’m 29 years old – I’m wondering what do I want to do with my next year? What do I want to do before I turn 30? As I have been working on my business to become the Present Provider for my family – I have noticed a trend. Most people set an income goal. So have I in the last years. Now that I have a few years on my back – I realize it is better to focus on Impact. Impact over Income. It is not how much I can get out – it is how much I can give. My goal is to reach 30K…
