Reflections on my Birthday – Yesterday I turned 29

Reflections on my 29th Birthday

10 years ago I made a decision. The decision was to study forestry.

At the time I thought it would be the best way for me to lay the foundation for my future family.

Reflecting back on that, it has been an amazing 10 yearstotally not what I expected though.

The biggest joy of those years has definitely been that I could marry my beautiful wife.

Second to that is the birth of our son.

This makes me now responsible for my family.

I could also learn a lot about the sorrows of life.

I lost my mother and we lost a baby.

Those losses definitely take you deeper.

The last year I really understood what Job meant when he said:

“The Lord gives. The Lord takes. Praise be to the Lord!”

On the professional side of things, I have had quite the storm.

From forestry and looking for a job – to the eye-opening opportunity of business has been a transforming experience.

I have done many things and failed at most.

Over the years I could learn many lessons of what it means to become a Present Provider.

Starting a business to support and lead my family proactively.

I’m looking forward to the next 10 years and all the lessons it will bring.

I’m also excited to give and my goal for the next 10 years is to focus on impact over income.

I’m glad all of you join me and giving over taking more.

So I’m glad you join me on the journey ahead.

Provide with Presence, my brother!

Hey Reader, When I look around, most men want to start a side hustle to get the business off the ground. I love the idea and motivation they have—to provide for their family and spend more time with them. There is only one flaw on that side:They plan for a side hustle, not for an exit strategy. The numbers tell the difference. Most people starting a side hustle are happy about any money they can make. They start to offer low-price digital products:A template for $20 or an ebook for $8. • Success comes through Sacrifice

Hey Reader, Everything in life comes with a price tag. Not always do they have a $ (Dollar Sign) with them. Some are also connected to the cost of time. Some are decisions, either for or against. You can do many things, but you won’t be able to succeed in all. You do have many opportunities, but not the time to try them all. There is a correlation that I started to notice. The older I get, the more obvious it becomes. Every big victory comes with a price. There is no success without…

  • The One-Dad Business

The One-Dad Business The only way I have found to make enough income to be the sole provider is with business. Yes, there are certain careers that would earn money, but they don’t give you agency. The next part is that they need to give you the opportunity to be present for your family. This is why the One-Dad Business is the best option for Dads to start a business. Many dabble with the idea to build a hobby business. Something they do for their hobby. There is a downside to it, though….

  • Seasonal Stewardship

Seasonal Stewardship In Ecclesiastes, Solomon is telling about many different seasons of life. There is a time of birthing and a time of dying. There are many more seasons: Sowing and harvesting. Work hard and rest. Season of sorrow and season of joy. Then there are also seasons of life: when you’re a child. An adult. Single and married. Engaged. Having young kids. All these seasons change your responsibility. So in effect, it changes your stewardship. All the points of Extreme Stewardship…

Hey Reader, There is a daily battle going on. We are at war. Alone. Nobody is watching. We all know one enemy: Procrastination. It’s talked about a lot.We don’t do what we want to do. What if I tell you Procrastination is not even the biggest enemy? There is an even bigger one in the room. We are at war to defend our focus to do meaningful work, yet distractions keep interrupting our focus. Only a minute here. And a minute there. And we now say it’s procrastination giving resistance. What did we…

  • Don’t be too good to be true

Hey Reader, Every day I get DMs by people pitching me their service. I’m not a big fan of cold DMs or cold outreach, but there is an even bigger problem ahead. There is another inflation going around. Next to the financial inflation, there is also the offer inflation. I do enjoy most of the content by Alex Hormozi and I have both his books. There is a side effect of the $100M Offers book. Many juniors are starting out and create an offer that is “irresistible.” I agree with Alex Hormozi to…
