Goal or Journey? Both!

Hey Reader,

When I was in university, there was a big debate:
Whether life was about the goal to achieve or enjoying living the journey.

As a success-driven person, I always stated that the goal and the outcome matter most.

Now that I hunted success for many years, I’ve noticed another pattern.

If you don’t enjoy the process to get the success—success is falling short.

You need to have goals because they serve as landmarks to give your journey a direction.

That is something I have seen in people’s lives that were focused too much on the journey.

They didn’t really have a direction for their life. They had trouble making decisions.

The flipside is, the goal without action is never achieved.

So you need progress towards your goal.

The progress is the journey.

Taking repeated action is the journey.

You need to enjoy the journey you’re on—otherwise, you won’t be able to stick with it long enough.

Only the goal with the journey combined is giving you the ability for achievement.

One without the other is not going to be successful.

The goal gives us direction.

The journey drives us forward through repeated action.

Progress comes from combining both direction and action, making consistent steps forward toward our destination while learning from the journey itself.

That’s the joy of being a husband, father, and entrepreneur.

Until next time,

Your Jowi

This is a topic I keep thinking about. I’m yet to fully grasp what it means. We don’t like to be manipulated. It often happens — when I’m on X or other social platforms,I feel like the Sales Bros are always trying to be manipulative. A lot of the strategies behind Persuasion and Manipulation are similar. They are similar to what they do —but we don’t like to be sold to. Yet, it becomes more complicated when we find out someone manipulated us to buy.We feel icky. That’s not nice. So how is…

  • Why giving first sets you apart

One question is always here:How do I stand out? I want to show that I’m different. There is so much content produced every day that it’s hard to keep up with it all. Yet it’s not coming easy to stand out. The one sure thing we know is: If you do what everybody does — it’s a sure way to blend in with the crowd. There is a trend that I’m seeing. It’s not a new trend.Everybody is only talking about themselves. The major question always is: What’s in it for me? That’s the main attitude most…

  • Working with Constraints

Working with Constraints Everybody has constraints. We usually try to ignore them. We try to show all the good things and advantages we have. But we don’t want to share limitations we have. Constraints are a powerful opportunity once you use them right. There is a saying that goes something like this: “You can do anything, but you can’t do everything.” The opportunities we have right now seem endless. You think you can conquer the world. Once reality hits, you realize – that you’re still…

Many people try to grow their online presence —trying to build something unique. Yet they tell stories that everybody has heard before. You could share your story. Tell what happens in your life. It’s hard to do, so maybe — you think there is no story to tell. You have nothing interesting to share. Or you think that it’s scary. You don’t want to tell your story to nobody. I understand all that. But here’s the question:Why did you start? What made you want to start this business in the first…

  • Business is Boring!

Hey Reader, In so many videos I’ve watched over the years, there is often the idea that business is so exciting. There is always something new happening. There is always change. You’re in a high-speed car chase. While I definitely get that—especially when you’re starting out—you always want to be overwhelmed. The reality is that business is boring. There is not much happening once you find a routine that works. The main goal is to stick to that routine as long as you can. I do like to be by…
