Don’t Wait Until You Feel Ready

“Well, I’m not ready.”
How often do I hear this from others?
How often do I think it myself?

Too often.

The truth is:

You will never feel ready.

The more you learn,
the more you figure out what else there is to learn.

Even when I feel like I have something figured out —
the world changes and I have to start over again.

Every time I used to start over,
I’d get faster because I got better.

I also know:

Everybody else needs to start over too.

There’s this constant battle inside:

“Just start” sounds like old advice. But it’s true.

When you haven’t started,
the best thing for you is to just start.
Set your first move forward.

There are many things you don’t know.
If starting a business is like starting a family —
there are many things you can’t know.

Many things you didn’t think of — yet you figure it out.

Better:
“I will know because I’ll figure it out.”
Than:
“I don’t know, so I won’t.”

Pick up the pieces you do know and start from there.
Figure out the missing pieces along the way.

Stay open-minded to discover new ways of doing things.

But get started.
Then you will learn.

You will actually learn through taking action.

This is so much better than just talking about it.
It also means:

You’ll gain knowledge and improve your skills.

That’s a huge upside.

You can’t underestimate the skills and knowledge you gain directly —
no matter who else is telling you what.

  • Should you be authentic?

Hey Reader, No matter where I look right now, people tell me to be more authentic. Is that really helpful though? I don’t think so. Let me explain why. Not many people would describe it as such, but you can observe the behaviors. In reality, a person says “I’m authentic” when they give their unfiltered opinion. Being…
